Choose the Test That Changes Everything

One Test Can Change Everything. Choose the Right One.

You have planned to take admission to your dream university overseas, which starts well before the application form. It starts with the right exam score. Whether you need to prove your English fluency, compete for a top graduate program, or qualify for an undergraduate place at a global university, there is an exam designed for exactly that goal.

At Gemini Education, we work with students from India, Nepal, and across the world who are planning to study in Australia, the UK, Canada, the USA, New Zealand, and Dubai. We help you understand which exams your chosen course and institution actually require, which ones carry the most weight for visa applications, and how to approach preparation with confidence.

English Proficiency Exams

If you are planning to study in an English-speaking country or apply for a student visa, you will almost certainly need an English language test. The five most widely accepted are:

  • IELTS: the most recognised exam worldwide, accepted across Australia, the UK, Canada, and New Zealand for both study and migration.

  • PTE Academic: fully computer-based, AI-scored, with results in as little as 48 hours. Widely accepted in Australia and popular for PR pathways.

  • TOEFL iBT: the preferred choice for US university admissions, now under 2 hours after a major 2023 redesign.

  • Duolingo English Test: taken entirely online from home in under an hour. Accepted by 5,000+ institutions worldwide.

  • OET: designed exclusively for healthcare professionals. Nurses, doctors, and allied health workers heading to Australia or the UK will often need OET for professional registration.

Undergraduate Entrance Exams

International students applying to undergraduate programs in the United States are often required to submit scores from one of two standardised exams:

  • SAT: tests reading, writing, and maths skills on a 400-1600 scale. Widely used for US college admissions.

  • ACT: an alternative to the SAT that adds a Science section. Competitive universities typically expect a score of 30 or above.

Graduate and Postgraduate Entrance Exams

For students aiming at master's degrees, MBAs, or doctoral programs, graduate entrance exams are often required alongside English proficiency results:

  • GRE: required by most US graduate programs across engineering, science, humanities, and business. Some Australian and UK universities accept GRE scores too.

  • GMAT: the standard exam for MBA and business master's admissions at top business schools globally. Some programs now accept the GRE as an alternative.
