Academic LOR writing

An academic LOR from the right professor can significantly strengthen your application, especially for research-focused master's programs, PhD applications, and competitive institutions.

Getting one that is specific, credible, and compelling requires preparation on your end, not just a quick email to your professor.

Who Should Write Your Academic LOR

A professor or lecturer who taught a course directly relevant to your intended field of study abroad A research supervisor or thesis advisor, if you have conducted academic research A department head or academic mentor who knows your full academic record and character Avoid choosing recommenders solely based on seniority if they barely know your work

How to Request an Academic LOR Professionally

Request the LOR at least four to six weeks before the application deadline. Provide your recommender with your CV, your SOP draft, the institutions you are applying to, and specific examples of your work in their course that you would like them to highlight.

What We Provide

A detailed briefing document for your recommender A draft LOR in the required format and word count Institution-specific customisation where multiple applications are required Review of the final letter before submission
